NIKE ANGELINO EXHIBIT AT THE POINT - LA

Nike invited me to be part of their Angelino photoshoot a few weeks back. This past Thursday was the opening celebration for the exhibit going down at The Point. It was a fun photoshoot as we could bring in props to spice things up. I brought in a bunch of AF1 pairs that are deadstock, so I just wrapped those around my neck and played gangsta for about 10 minutes. I got to iD a pair during the night and hopefully I'll get the pair that I designed this time. hahaha. It took a little bit trying to find all the pics of myself, but once you found one, they all started to pop out.

Big ups to Len, Dennis and the crew. What up big Arsen and Jupiter aka Mr. Cameraman for the night.

The Social Trust Holloween Bash!

Went to go support the homie PSun and crew with the wifey on Holloween night, and also to meet up with Emmy from Fatlace. It was a great turnout. It's good to see the community support TST, especially with New Era sending over some Monster Pack caps to give away. Unfortunately I played the "too old for costume" card and came as good ol' Ric. Next year I'll do it up for sure.

Big ups to PSUN for making it happen and to Dana (New Era) for their support.

So I finally made it back home. I heard we missed a heatwave out in LA... oh well, we were fine in our hi-70's out in Brooklyn.

Jason and I had a blast. A very productive trip with tons of new projects on the horizon. Big ups to Jess, John, Squirt and Sushi for allowing us to invade their space. This was Jason's first time out there so you know we had to do the sight seeing thang... Also, big ups to everyone we had meetings with, shared drinks with, had dinner, had lunches with, to those we bumped into on the streets and big ups to all the stores that had sales going on... hahahaha.

So I made the trip to ASR again, this time on Friday. I had a few meetings to handle and some research to conduct so it was on... here I come San Diego!

It's about a two hour drive from LA, so you know the kid had to grab a red bull for breakfast. This trip is going to be short and precise. Meetings, meetings and meetings then bounce. Unfortunately I didn't make it to Agenda or any of the parties but I heard it was off the hook. All good though, I had to get my ass home for a Nike/Kobe/Laker-filled weekend poppin off bright and early Saturday morning... I'll save that for tomorrow's post.

This past Thursday marked a historical exhibition for two of today's and yesteday's most influential graff artists. Connecting the bridge between NY and LA, Stash and Slick created a nice flow of art, multimedia, music, drinks, goodie bags and good friends. All going down in the back gallery over at Melt Comics. If you need your comic fix, this is the place to be. Toys, comics, vintage posters, vintage collectables and even $1000 dollar toddler Nike leather jackets... this place has everything you can possibly imagine.

SecretEmpire was on hand to take part in the celebration and to snap some photos for Rime. Tons of people showed up and the event was a huge success.

Movement: Hip Hop in LA | Art show photos

Friday evening served as a night of art, culture and hip hop in LA history, and we had SecretEmpire's very own Pat Martinez involved with the event showing his Tupac piece. With LA talents showing art ranging from traditional paintings, graffiti, photography, installations, video and even chocolates... the city can sleep a little easier knowing hip hop in LA, after all these years, has had a positive effect on the city and its' youth.

A big thank you to the Department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Los Angeles. They put on a very fresh event featuring historical artifacts from LA's extensive history in Hip Hop and Rime Magazine had the honor to be a sponsor. SecretEmpire was on hand taking photos for Rime.

UNITY in LA - NOV. 06' - PHOTOS

This past Thursday (11.2) was the return of UNITY. A special event, created by Bigga B (rip), that blazed trails for LA's deep-rooted hip hop talent pool and sparked the careers for some of today's most influential West Coast artists, producers and dj's. Ending in the late 1990's and returning in 2006, UNITY is back to reclaim the true essence of what West Coast hip hop is all about.

Thursday brought heavyweights like Alchemist, Ras Kass, Self Scientific, Sick Symphonies, Strong Arm Steady and special appearance by Planet Asia while DJ Muggs, Mark Luv, Rhettmatic and Mr. Choc held down the wheelz of steel.

Big ups to DJ Muggs, Chase Infinite, Angeles Records and SA Studios for bringing back a ground-breaking event that not only defines hip hop, but a movement. SecretEmpire was on hand taking photos for Rime Magazine, who is a sponsor for the event.

Hi-Tek photoshoot at the Rime office.

Last week Hi-Tek came through the Rime office in downtown for a nice little photoshoot. He's promoting his new album "Hi-Teknology 2 - The Chip" off of Babygrande and will be performing in LA at the end of Nov. The album is in stores now so go pick it up! Also be on the look out for Hi-Tek production on upcoming Aftermath projects.

I would like to thank everyone who made it out to "FROM STADIUM TO THE STREETS" this past Friday at the Nike Futbol Club. The event was a huge success! Thanks to everyone's support. All the creations were amazing and we were able to raise a few thousand dollars for HOLA (Heart of Los Angeles Youth), an important organization to help inner city kids.

So this past Thursday we started the Nike 3-on-3 Futbol league. Nike invited some of LA's creative trailblazers, including Undefeated, Union, GreyOne, Crewest, Blends, Dim Mak, Rime Mag and a bunch of others, to their futbol club in Los Angeles. The league is going on for four weeks with the grand prize being a trip to Brazil! All team players were also able to iD a special edition World Cup AF1 for taking part in the league. I just kept it simple... pics to come once the kicks are in hand. The pics at the bottom are from the Nike World Cup exhibit located inside the clubhouse. enjoy.

Recently at the NikeTown x Sole Collector event in NY, Nike was kind enough to break out some "never going to hit the shelves" gems. Also in attendance was the sneaker competition which brought out all the collectors and their prize possesions.

Air Force 1 Low - Crocodile Leather
The infamous crocodile leather Air Force 1 made famous by Fat Joe. There are 48 pairs made with most given to A-List musicians (ie Fat Joe) the 1 remain pair were auctioned off at the Niketown event. The winner made the final bid and the floor went nuts, he bid $5000. The shoe itself cost about $10,000, proceeds from the auction benefit Nike Go - a true bargain.

Jordan X - One Piece Laser
Another auction item, this one went for $1600 also to the winner of the Crocodile Air Force 1. Proceeds benefit Nike Go. The white pair of Jordan X One Piece went for $2600 also to the same winner.

The ResFest is a touring digital film festival brought to you by Res Media, one of the foremost promoters of digital culture in the world. The tour will showcase the works of the most creative artists in the world, and will travel through North America, Europe and Asia. The featured works will include short films, music videos and animated films.
